“Music, uniquely among the arts, is both completely abstract and profoundly emotional. It has no power to represent anything particular or external, but it has a unique power to express inner states or feelings. Music can pierce the heart directly; it needs no mediation.”
― Oliver SacksMusicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain

About Me

Megan is a young entrepreneur from Washington D.C. She is a fifth semester Music Therapy major at Berklee College of Music. She hopes to pursue research in creating new technologies to use in music therapy sessions and beyond to promote wellness, to help those that are disabled, and to relieve anxiety.

Megan first fell in love with music at the age of 16. When she was in high school she started playing the piano and eventually got into songwriting. She then went to Berklee for one semester and made the rigorous move to Los Angeles, California. Throughout her time in California, she worked on various projects within the film and music industry such with companies and musicians of Buzzfeed, Disney, Justin Bieber, Mary J. Blidge, Bea Miller, and many more. She built her own company and empire around the YouTube Industry by releasing a music video every Monday and calling it "Megan Mondays".

She not only discovered that she had a passion for being in front of the camera, but also behind it. She worked jobs like being a production assistant, art coordinator, and even a producer. In the midst of her work here in Los Angeles, she discovered a new passion for helping people through music. She decided to pack up her things and go back to school at Berklee College of Music to pursue Music Therapy in the Spring of 2016.

Throughout her time at Berklee, she has worked on various projects working behind the scenes at the school such as the Berklee Gala, , a VIP escort for the Isley Brothers, Rita, Moreno, and Milton Nacimento, and even Berklee's own scholarship department as a project assistant in Phonathon.

In the Music Therapy program, Megan has truly excelled and discovered what she wants to do with her life. With the help of the professors, Megan is also taking two classes at MIT related to technology and music, which she hopes to pursue in the future. Through working behind the scenes, she has discovered a new love for creating and building technology in music catered towards those with disabilities. This is where her ultimate passion and love lie. Through this, she has worked on projects to help drug addiction, Tinnitus, road biking, and babies all through using music and technology.

She believes that music holds a power far greater than what we currently know. She wishes to help others discover that power through the new and innovative technologies that she creates. For Megan, there are no bounds to what she can create, develop, and pursue. Megan wants to give music scientific meaning.
